Biography

For Mason resident and native Ohioan Matthew Brian Taylor, following in his father’s   footsteps was the obvious choice. First experiencing the thrill of the stage at the age of seven as part of his father Michael’s magic show, he was hooked from the moment he watched the audience laugh, and was performing solo professionally by the age of 10. Matthew has performed magic and illusion at festivals, parties, and corporate events throughout North America and Europe. Taylor obtained his B.F.A. in Acting and Design Technology from Wright State University, spent 12 years as part of the professional behind-the-scenes staff at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and has worked as a Magic Effects Designer and consultant for numerous regional theatre companies throughout the United States and Canada.  He continues to study and teach magic and performance with the world’s foremost entertainers in the US and abroad. Matthew served as Chancellor at the prestigious Coxcomb Academy of the Performing Arts, for three years and was the the original Dean of the College of Conjuring for six years before that. Matthew is affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Magicians, The Society of American Magicians, Clowns of America International, The Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor and The International Society of Humor Studies.
